My ‘sweet and sour’ post on Bengaluru south MP Tejasvi Surya has generated huge response, especially from Surya’s female fans.
I had hinted in the post that Surya had ‘matured’ after his marriage to Chennai based classical singer, dancer and YouTuber Sivasri Skandaprasad.
I had praised Surya for opposing the ‘tunnel road’ proposed by the Karnataka government, as it would pass under the ground through the iconic Lalbagh botanical garden in the city.
While praising Surya, I had also mentioned that he was known in the past for making derogatory comments against the minorities. However, I had said he had reformed after his marriage to classical singer Sivasri, who also has a large fan base.
I had shared the post on my Facebook page Coorg-Kodagu News which has over 17,000 followers. I received lot of brickbats for my post, mainly from the saffron troll brigade. The post generated over 1,300 ‘likes’ and nearly 300 comments.
Normally, my controversial posts get reactions from male netizens. For a change this time, many of those who responded were ‘sanskari’ females. Unlike the males, female reactions were subdued and polished.
In conclusion, I hope the state government will drop the tunnel road project and go ahead with spending more funds on public transport like buses and metro, used by the common man.
