UNION MINISTER SADANANDA GOWDA’S SON’S LAVISH WEDDING IN COORG

Audi-A6, costing Rs 1.3 crore is going to be the most talked about subject at Friday’s wedding of Karthik Gowda, son of Union minister Sadananda Gowda in Coorg. karthik gowda

The system of dowry is almost non-existent in Coorg. Hence, eyebrows are being raised over the costly gift of the car by the bride’s parents. However, reports that the car is Dad’s gift to Karthik has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Karthik’s mother Daty hails from a place near Kushalanagar town in Coorg and the bride’s family also is from the same town.

At the time of engagement of the couple last year, a small time actress Maitreya Gowda had claimed that Karthik was already married to her. She had filed a case of kidnap, rape and cheating against the minister’s son. The matter is pending before the court.

In the circumstances, Sadananda Gowda’s family could have toned down the wedding celebrations. Instead, it is going to be a gala affair with the pandal itself reportedly costing over a crore of rupees.

Many political heavyweights are expected to attend the wedding. The grand spread offered at the wedding feast includes the famed pandi curry. Today all roads in Coorg lead to Kushalanagar, the town which is on the Mysore-Madikeri highway.
